Ceremonial Mayor Enjoys Afternoon Tea at Broughton House

The Ceremonial Mayor and Mayoress of Salford were the latest VIP guests to visit Broughton House.

Our chief executive Chris Lindsay and fundraising and marketing manager Rhys Edwards took Councillor Ronald Wilson and his wife Pat on a tour of the home, during which the couple chatted with veterans and staff.

Over afternoon tea, Chris provided an update on how work is progressing to transform Broughton House into a Veterans Care Village.

Before leaving, the VIP duo signed the Broughton House visitors’ book.

Councillor Wilson said: “The Mayoress and I were warmly greeted by staff and residents. There is always a warm, relaxed and comfortable feel to the home, which we are always sad to leave.

“We wish the home well on its exciting journey.”

Chris said: “It was lovely to receive a visit by the Ceremonial Mayor and Mayoress and to show them our plans. They took a great interest in our vision to become the north west’s first Veterans Care Village and we look forward sharing this journey with them.”
