As Director of Pathology, she is accountable for 16 diagnostics laboratories in England that provide donor and patient testing that ensures safe blood transfusion and stem cell and organ transplantation.

Playing her role in pioneering breakthroughs, Laura advised government ministers and senior health officials on the mobilisation and use of plasma for the effective treatment of Covid-19, securing £100M funding and overcoming operational challenges.
