Enlisted; 1st September 1914, Kings Royal Rifle Corps (KRRC) aged 19.

Training; KRRC Reserve Battalion. Sheerness, Kent

War Service; 3rd May 1915; Charles Robert Fox was sent to France with 4th Battalion KRRC with a replacement draft for the horrendous casualties suffered by 4th KRRC during the 2nd Battle of Ypres (22/4/15 25/5/15)

9th May 1915; Seriously wounded during the battle for the Frezenburg Ridge. (80th Brigade, 27th Division) Lost both legs.

Medals; 1914-15 Star British War medal Victory medal

Demobilised; 21st April 1916, medically discharged in the rank of Corporal

Postwar; Broughton House Resident for the rest of his life.

Family: Father, Alfred, a Workhouse Night Superintendent. Previously an Army Veteran.
