“My dad has been in respite with you for three weeks and what an amazing place. The care he has had has been wonderful and all the staff (from reception to carers and nurses) have been amazing. Lovely feel about the place and it doesn’t feel like a care home. Lovely rooms, decor and very pleasant sitting in the communal area. One of the carers was playing the guitar which was lovely. Dad really enjoyed a cheese and wine night and we also got to wheel him to a local park. We cannot fault the place and will return him.”

“We have been extremely pleased with the help and support from all staff: nursing, care, wellbeing, chefs, support workers and the admin and management teams too. Everyone has pulled together to help my dad settle into his new home at Broughton. As a family, we have peace of mind, that transitioning from his home of 60 plus years, to respite and now permanent resident, has been a relatively easy process and we are pleased Dad has settled into his new environment and seems to be thriving, at last. Thank you to all the staff, for their continuing support with our dad.”

“It has taken so much stress away knowing that Mum is at Broughton House. I am also ex-military and love how military milestones occasion’s and anniversaries are remembered at the home. My mum is treated with respect and cared for as if she was being looked after by family members. Mum has an extended family in each and everyone around her. My only suggestion would be for the family members to receive a book of who is who to contact in the home for various queries”

“I first found out about Broughton House – Veteran Care Village early in 2021, from a friend in Australia and since then my wife, a veteran army nurse (QARANC), who unfortunately now has advanced Alzheimer’s Disease, has been a resident there since the end of April 2021.
In the five months that my wife has been a resident, she has settled very well, I visit her 2/3 times every week and at every visit, she is clean, well dressed, and her hair is always brushed the way she likes it.
The Staff, from the CEO and Care Manager down (some of which are veterans themselves), are approachable at any time by visitors and they will always interact with residents at every opportunity. Plus, the atmosphere and cleanliness of Broughton House, which is a very modern, purpose built Care Home, is excellent.
As a veteran myself, and husband/Carer for my wife, I know that she is safe, loved and well cared for at Broughton House – Veteran Care Village”
