We are delighted to announce the award of a £125,000 COVID-19 grant to Broughton House Veteran Care Village by the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust.

The grant comes from the Trust’s Covid-19 Emergency Fund, which is making money available to armed forces charities to plug the deficit in fundraising income suffered during the coronavirus pandemic.

In response to the outbreak, the government pledged a multi-million pound package to organisations supporting serving armed forces personnel, veteran and their families.

The Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust is administering the applications and grant management of this programme.

Rhys Edwards, fundraising and marketing manager at Broughton House, said: “This significant sum will support us greatly in providing quality nursing and residential care to our veterans during this challenging time.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted our fundraising activity at a crucial period in our history and, as we move into the next phase of our Veteran Care Village redevelopment, we can’t thank the government and the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust enough for their generous support.”

Broughton House is a care home situated in Salford, Greater Manchester, that provides, residential, nursing and respite care to former members of the armed forces and Merchant Navy, including those who took part in National Service.
